In addition to the paper sessions, there will be a one day field trip to Petropolis. This is a city situated in the Sierra do Mar (a mountainous area), 60 kilometres from Rio de Janeiro City. The field trip will provide an opportunity to see spectacular rill and gully erosion, as well as the effects of mass movements, in an urban context.
